Award Winning Staff at the 2008 FSU Annual Employee Recognition Ceremony
On September 17, 2008 FSU held its Second Annual Employee Recognition Awards
Ceremony and a number of our staff members were honored by Provost Larry Abele
and Marcy Driscoll, Dean of the College of Education.
A very large part of the success and positive atmosphere we all enjoy in the
department is because of the wisdom and experience of our wonderful staff. Once
they join the “physics family” they don’t want to leave! At the ceremony staff
members employed at the university at one, two and three decadal marker points
are honored. An special category for 3.5 decades of service also took place.
This year from our department these “Sustained Service Awards” were presented to
Scott Baxter (10 years), Terri Volsch (10 years), Wlodzimierz Blaszczyk (20
years), Sherry Tointigh (30 years) and Ken Ford (35 years). We say “Thank You”
to all of them for their loyalty and service.
Each year a very small number of staff members are selected for their extra
special contributions to the university. These “Exemplary Service Awards” are
highly coveted indeed. It therefore gives us all great pleasure that our own Eva
Crowdis was chosen for the Exemplary Service Award in the category of
“Administrative Services”. We are proud of you Eva!
Please enjoy the photographs below and take a moment to seek out and say
“Congratulations” to our award winners. Also don’t be shy when it comes around
to nomination time next year.
