Dr. Robert Schrieffer

Professor/Eminent Scholar, Ph.D., University of Illinois, 1957


Professor Schrieffer received his Ph.D. in physics from the University of Illinois in 1957, serving on the faculty of the Universities of Pennsylvania and California Santa Barbara where he was Director of the Institute for Theoretical Physics.

He joined the faculty of Florida State University and University of Florida in 1991, and serves as Chief Scientist of the National High Magnetic Field Laboratory. His research centers on strongly coupled fermion systems and high temperature superconductivity.
