Postdoc in Hadronic Physics at GlueX (filled)

Note: This position has been filled.

The Hadronic Nuclear Physics Group at Florida State University invites applications for a postdoctoral researcher to work on the GlueX experiment at Jefferson Lab.  The group has a long involvement with GlueX, and has a wide range of interests in hadronic physics, with a particular interest in the search for hybrid and other unconventional mesons, as well as interests in advanced scientific computing.   More information on the research group and the physics department at FSU can be found at http://hadron.physics.fsu and http://physics.fsu.edu

The GlueX experiment (http://gluex.org) has begun a multi-year data-taking program, and the analysis of these data will lead to a rich program of physics results.  We seek a candidate with a strong interest in the GlueX physics program to lead physics analyses of this data. The successful applicant will be based at Jefferson Lab, will be expected to take a role in supporting the running of the experiment, and to provide guidance to graduate and undergraduate students.  A Ph.D. in experimental high-energy or nuclear physics is required. Experience with amplitude analysis, high throughput computing, or advanced software development is a plus.

Applications including a cover letter, a curriculum vitae, a brief statement of research experience and interests, and three letters of recommendation should be sent to (Sean Dobbs. Review of applications will begin October 16, 2017 and will continue until the position is filled.
